Product Safety Recall – Coloured Sand for Unity Ceremony
Reason for this product recall
Gem’s Wedding Supplies are recalling our Coloured Sand for Unity Ceremony products. The products were recalled because they may contain tremolite asbestos, a naturally occurring asbestos, which was detected in some samples after laboratory testing. Asbestos is a prohibited substance in Australia. We are working with the ACCC to manage this recall.
Which products are affected?
Coloured Sand for Unity Ceremony – 200 g bags in a variety of colours
This product was sold online through Gem’s Wedding Supplies website and online marketplaces. These products were supplied between October 2023 and November 2025.
What should you do?
All customers should stop using these products immediately and if it is still in its packaging, place the product in a heavy-duty plastic bag.
