UNITY SAND CEREMONY

A unity sand ceremony symbolises the union of husband and wife through the joining of different sands. It can also represent the blending of a family, with children included in the ceremony. Sand ceremonies involve the bride, groom, and any children, pouring colored sand into a vase, creating a layered effect. This symbolises the joining of their lives.

During the ceremony, the couple may say their own personal vows or exchange traditional wedding vows. They may also have a officiant or close friend or family member speak about the meaning of the sand unity ceremony and what it represents for the couple. As the sand is poured, the couple may hold hands or stand together, symbolizing their unity and commitment to each other.

After the ceremony, the container of layered sand can be displayed in the couple's home as a reminder of their special day and the promises they made to each other. Some couples even use the sand in a unity sand frame, where they can keep a photo of their wedding day alongside the layered sand, creating a beautiful and sentimental piece of art.
